As editor-in-chief in 2020, I transitioned the print newspaper to remote production following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and led coverage of USC as the university responded to the crisis. I served as final say on sensitive stories regarding university scandals and the board of trustees. Over my four years on the newspaper, I covered breaking news following a USC gynecologist's sexual misconduct scandal and the aftermath of a scandal involving the university's medical school dean who was on drugs while seeing patients. I also reported on the university's impact on the surrounding community, including an effort from some landlords to evict community members to market properties to students.
